The flood this week in Nepal has left a deep and devastating impact throughout the nation and especially in the southern plain land of the country. As of August 14, the Ministry of Home Affairs has recorded 91 dead, 38 missing, 25 wounded and over 2 ,847 house destroyed.

Several days after the outbursts of heavy rainfall in Nepal that destroyed the wild animal, livestock, crops, fertile land, a sudden disaster came and swept the lives of many people. Kilometers inside the urban area, the heavy rainfall caused water-log beyond the boundaries and damped the shelter, food, belongings and everything else.

After a week of disaster flood, the weather is better and water level getting down dried out leaving the soul of the people wounded. The crops destroyed. Lack of food, water and sanitation is a major challenge for victims. But it’s a human nature that always tries surviving anyhow. People from flood affected area trying to get back to living a normal life, feeding their children, working, healing their wounds.

साउनको अन्तिम साता आएको भीषण बाढीपहिरोले मुलुकको अधिकांश भेग र विशेषगरी तराई भेगमा अपुरणिय क्षति पु¥याएको छ । गृह मन्त्रालयका अनुसार बाढी पहिरोका कारण १४ अगस्ट, २०१७ सम्ममा मृतकको संख्या ९१, बेपत्ता ३८, घाइते २५ जना र करिब २ हजार ८ सय वटा घर क्षतिग्रस्त भएका छन् ।

अन्नबाली, मलिलो खेत,जंगली जनावर, चौपायालाई क्षति पु¥याएको केही दिनयताको लगातार वर्षापछि आएको भीषण बाढीमा सय मानिसले ज्यान गुमाउनुप¥यो । शहर छेउका खोलानालाको उच्च बहावका कारण शहरी क्षेत्रका भित्रि बस्तीमा समेत वर्षात्को पानी पसेर घरहरुमा क्षति पु¥याएको छ । अव्यवस्थित ढल र नदीनालाको प्राकृतिक बहाव थुनेर निर्माण गरिएका भौतिक संरचनाका कारण पनि शहरमा डुबान हुनपुगेको हो ।

करिब साता दिनपछि धेरै ठाउँमा वर्षा रोकिएकाले पानीको सतह घट्दै गएको छ । स्थानीयबासिन्दाहरु भिजेका सामानहरु संगालेर पुनः सामान्य जीवनतर्फ फर्कने कोशिश गर्दै छन् । खाद्यान्नको अभाव, खानेपानी र सरसफाई अहिले बाढी पीडितहरुका सामू ठूलो चुनौतीका रुपमा ठडिएको छ ।

बाढीका कारण विस्थापितहरु अझैपनि राहतको आशमा खुल्ला आकाशमुनी रात कटाउन बाध्यछन् ।
